A really cheap hotel?
Not sure how legit this place is but across the train station next to the breakfast store La-Guardia where I sometimes get a sandwitch there's a new shinning clean hotel that advertises on the front door (in English too) the following rates:
"rest" - 100NT$
overnight - 180NT$
weekly - 1000NT$
monthly - 3000NT$
If the room are half okay, could be good for students/expats needing cheap temp accommodation.
After questions here are more clarifications -
Front side of the train station. Across the square, just across the street from the Tainan hotel facing the train station.
If you get more details, please let me know.

More hostels and hotels
By the number of emails I get about this thread, finding a cheap hotel in Tainan is a common concern.
For those looking for other hotels - I suggest taking a look at http://www.itainan.org/guide/tainan-hotels-and-hostels
If you know any other hostels/hotels - please take the 1 minute to submit it at - http://www.itainan.org/node/add/directory

Skip this one...
The numbers reported on the outside have nothing to do with the real prices inside. To explain the differences they said that the number advertised outside are only for "coupon holders" (not the 3600NT$, something else). How those coupons might be obtains remains a mystery.
In any case, skip this one and go to one of the other lower budget hotels in that building (12F, 13F). Not that nice to be in, but comfortable and extremely cheap.

Hello
I know this is an old post, but do you know the names of the other two hotels you wrote about? I don't mind them not being "fancy", as long as they're clean and safe for a female.
Many thanks
